ASDA DISEC to investigate AKAST issues

The Akatsi South District Chief Executive, Hon, Leo-Nelson Adzidogah says the District Security Committee has started looking into the allegations being leveled against the headmaster of Akatsi Senior High and Technical School, Mr. Dickson Amemazior.

According to him, they met yesterday to consider the allegations being leveled against the headmaster. He disclosed that the Chiefs, the Divisional Police Commander, Akatsi Police Commander, the district Fire Service commander were at the meeting. The rest were PTA, District Director of Education, the old student association and BNI. He however, said the headmaster was not invited at that meeting.

Hon. Adzidogah disclosed these information during the ‘Agooh’ morning show programme on Fafaa 100,3 FM on the 12th September, 2019. He explained the District Security Committee some years ago looked into the same allegations leveled against the same headmaster. He disclosed that come next week the process will commence into the real allegations.

He said he could not recommend any punitive measure against the headmaster until the committee sits and deliberate on the allegations.

He added that next week, he will invite the headmaster, Mr, Dickson Amemazior and all the stakeholders involved this matter.

The DEC also revealed that the Akatsi South District Assembly has paid (GHc2,000) twenty thousand cedis out of the (GHc 31,000) thirty-one thousand cedis imposed by the Sogakope court to the Anagbla family. He added the assembly will pay the remaining (GHc11,000) eleven thousand cedis very soon.

He also announced that the official vehicle for the district coordinating director has been released.
As regards paying compensation to the Anagbla family, he said as soon the court comes out with the actual owner of the land on which the Akatsi South District Assembly is built, they cannot pay any compensation to the Anagbla family now.

Reacting to the issue, an educationist, Mr. Stanley Azinogo in the ‘Agooh” programme said Mr, Amemazior, the headmaster, should be demoted immediately because he sees no reason why a headmaster cannot work with the old students association and PTA.

Mr. Patrick Zeye, also an educationist and also an Assemblyman suggested during the programme that Mr.Dickson Amemazior should be rather be suspended until investigations are completed. According to him, the assistant headmaster should be permitted to act during his absence until the District Security Committee exhausts its investigations.
