Akufo-Addo commissions Lawra solar power plant

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Saturday, October 10, 2020, commissioned a 6.5-megawatt solar power plant, located in Lawra in the Upper West Region.

It will be recalled that on Tuesday, February 4, 2020, the President was in Kaleo, in the Nadowli District, to cut the sod for the construction of two solar power projects, one in Kaleo and the other in Lawra, both in the Upper West Region.

“I indicated, at the time, that, once completed, these two projects will deliver a combined power supply of about twenty megawatts to the national grid. Eight months on, I am happy to commission the first of the power projects which has been completed, and that is the 6.5-megawatt Solar Power Project, here in Lawra,” President Akufo-Addo said.
